This blog is dedicated to everything maple syrup. Artisans who make handmade maple syrups are called sugarmakers. Maple sugaring has been taking place in New York State since the late 1600s. Maple Syrup is made by collecting sap from sugar maple trees during late winter, and is then brought to the sugarhouse or shack and boiled down to maple syrup. This blog celebrates the world of maple syrup and is owned and operated by the Hudson-Chatham Winery.
